A Lifesaving Society Program
This course provides training for Lifesaving Instructors who wish to coach lifesaving sport at the community level. The course focuses on the fundamentals of coaching and lifesaving sport skills in the pool or in open water. Instructors will learn how to perform and teach skills such as flip turns, starts from blocks, victim rescues, throwing accuracy and rope coiling in a fun and competitive way.
As the Coaching Lifesaving and Lifesaving Sport Fundamentals Award Guide are required for the Lifesaving Sport Coach Level 1 Course, the books have been included in the course cost and will be issued to candidates on the first day.
Prerequisites: Lifesaving Instructor AND Emergency First Aid & CPR B (or higher) certifications.
Materials: Canadian Lifesaving Manual & Instructor Notes.
