Positions at Zodiac Day Camp
Counsellors – Supervise and participate in daily activities with campers.
No particular qualifications are required but must be friendly, responsible and want to work with kids.
Registered Early Childhood Educators (R.E.C.E's) – Supervise and participate in daily activities with campers in our Zodiac Day Care and Pre Kid-Vantage program.
R.E.C.E's must have a diploma in Early Childhood Education, be registered with the college of E.C.E's, and possess a current Standard First Aid with CPR-C qualification.
Swim Instructors – Instruct daily swim lessons to Zodiac campers each day.
Requires Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor or Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and certification, NLS, and Standard First Aid with CPR-C.
Specialists – Plan daily age-appropriate activities and teach campers new skills in one of our Zodiactivities.
Specialists can be coaches, teachers, or instructors who have expertise, qualifications and/or certifications in specific area (sports, arts, sciences, robotics, martial arts etc).
Photographer – Take daily photos and video footage of all campers and staff.
No particular qualifications are required but should have a passion for and experience with photography and videography (i.e. yearbook, film student, etc).
Camp Nurse – Care for the well-being of campers in the health centre.
The Camp Nurse must have finished an R.N or R.P.N program and possess a current Standard First Aid with CPR-C qualification.
Office Admin – Support the day-to-day operations of the camp.
Need strong organizational, communication and multi-tasking skills. Office staff are detail orientated and are comfortable speaking to parents on a daily basis.
Full-Time Summer Work
The day camp job generally involves full-time work from Monday to Friday from approximately 8:30 am to 4:45 for 7 weeks in July and August. A certain number of 4-week (July), 5-week, 6-week, and 7-week contracts are available (additional weeks of work in May and June may be available for Admin/Office employees).
Leo Baeck (near Eglinton Ave W. & Allen Road) provides a beautiful mid-Toronto indoor/outdoor venue for an exciting, multi-faceted day camp program.
